Privacy Policy
The short version: we don't collect personal information from children. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Reading progress stays on your own device.
Who we are
Roarly is a reading game for children aged 4 to 8, run by BUSINESS_NAME. You can contact us at CONTACT_EMAIL.
Information from children
Children can play without creating an account or giving any information about themselves. We do not ask for or collect children's names, ages, photos, locations or contact details, and we do not show them ads.
Because the game is meant for children under 13, we follow the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we ever wanted to collect personal information from a child, we would first get a parent's verifiable consent. We have no plans to do so.
Reading progress
The game saves which stages your child has played, and whether you have unlocked the full game, in your browser's local storage on your device. This information is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website.
The microphone
The microphone turns on only after you allow access in your browser and your child taps the microphone button. It switches off again at the end of each sentence, and whenever the game is closed or moved to the background. The game does not record, save or send audio to us.
To turn speech into words, the game uses the speech recognition service built into your browser. In Google Chrome this service is provided by Google, and in Safari by Apple, and their own privacy policies apply to it. If you prefer not to use it, block microphone access for this site. Your child can still play: a grown-up taps "I read it" instead.
Buying the Family unlock
Purchases are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. When a parent buys, Lemon Squeezy collects the details needed for the sale, such as name, email address and payment information, under its privacy policy. We receive the buyer's name, email address and order details so we can provide support. We never see full card numbers.
When a licence key is entered, the game sends the key and a short device label, such as "Roarly on iPad", to Lemon Squeezy to confirm it is valid. About once a month the game re-checks the key.
Website hosting
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard technical information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site. We do not use this information to identify or track visitors.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal information.
- We don't use advertising or analytics trackers in the game.
- We don't share information with third parties except as described above.
Parents' rights
Parents can contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about their purchase, or to have it deleted. Email CONTACT_EMAIL and we will reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we handle children's information, we will make it clear on the home page before it takes effect.
